Partnerships

S&You regularly partners with leading organisations to provide effective business relationships, delivering extra value to everyone we work with across all our specialist industries.

Welsh Sports Association

Our specialist Executive Division is proud to partner with the Welsh Sports Association. We work closely with the WSA and their members to manage the search and selection of their voluntary / non-executive board members, their executive/management team and permanent staff.

Our partnership with the Welsh Sports Association dates back to 2017 and since then we’ve been a proud partner of the sports and leisure sector in Wales in ensuring access to talent, senior professionals and board directors all across Wales. We offer a range of discounted solutions to members of the Welsh Sports Association, giving members access to a much wider pool of applicants. We’ve been exclusively selected to lead on Executive and Non-Executive appointments with the likes of Football Association of Wales, Welsh Cycling, Swim Wales, Cardiff City FC Foundation, Commonwealth Games Wales, and the newly formed regional partnerships on behalf of Sport Wales.

If you’re a member of the Welsh Sports Association and planning a piece of recruitment for your leadership team, board or wider organisation then do get in touch today to hear how we can help. All of our senior recruitment support comes with a detailed proposal prior to any engagement which can be completely tailored to your needs.

Pathway to Board

Since 2021, we have been a core partner to the Pathway to Board programme which was setup to provide mentoring, education and training to ethnic minorities so that they can obtain board and leadership positions in the future. This programme was initially setup following feedback from our engagement with Cardiff Community Housing Association for the identification and appointment of several board members. It was clear from this project that there were an extensive number of professionals from ethnic minorities that had the ambition to work towards leadership roles within the housing sector but needed additional support and training to ensure their success. It was thereafter that the project was setup, with our initial support to recruit the first Project Manager on a pro-bono basis and additionally ongoing support where we have delivered several workshops to support the cohorts in applying and interviewing for such positions.

The current Project Manager, Afshan Iqbal recently wrote the following testimonial:

Luke and Paul from S&You (Acorn) have been supporting the Pathway to Board programme since its inception. They have significantly contributed to our board training program by conducting engaging workshops, providing personalised one on one application and interview assistance, and marketing it to different organisations for the project to grow. They have also communicated brilliant board opportunities for our cohorts to take advantage of.
Their involvement has been particularly beneficial as it addresses a key concern within black and ethnic minority communities: enhancing confidence in interview skills. The feedback from the participating candidates has been extremely positive. One candidate stated "The workshop has made me so much more confident in preparing myself for a board interview. I have used the tools that were delivered in the workshop to benefit me greatly in my career".
We have had a great partnership together and the project's success has been evident since Acorn's participation, with an increase in positive outcomes for the participants. The Pathway to board project is looking forward to continuing working with S&You (Acorn) as our longstanding partners. “
